Jink is currently in private beta. These terms apply to all beta users and will continue to apply when Jink launches publicly. Features may change. We will notify you of material changes before they take effect.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Jink website (jink.quest) and iOS application (together, the "Services") operated by Jink ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Jink. By using the Services, you represent that you are 18 or older. The Services are currently available to users in the United States. International availability may expand over time.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at contact@jink.quest if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their consent, create multiple accounts for the purpose of abuse, or use automated tools to create accounts.
Jink allows you to post geotagged photos, captions, and other content to the community map ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you:
We do not claim ownership of your User Content. You retain all rights you had before posting it.
Separately from the community map, Jink may invite you to contribute your building scan photos to improve our building recognition model. This is strictly opt-in. We will present a clear in-app consent prompt before any of your photos are used for training. The prompt will explain:
If you contribute photos for training, you grant Jink a license to use those specific photos for machine learning model training and evaluation. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us, and your photos will be removed from future training sets.

Building histories, architectural narratives, and responses in AI chat sessions are generated by artificial intelligence (Google Gemini and xAI Grok). This content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. It is not a substitute for professional architectural, historical, or engineering advice. Do not rely on AI-generated content for any purpose requiring accuracy. See our Disclaimer for more.
AI outputs generated through our Services are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. Jink does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated content for any particular purpose.
The Jink app, website, design, building data enrichments, aesthetic profile system, walk generation algorithm, and AI-processed outputs are owned by Jink and protected by copyright, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Services without our written permission.
Third-party content displayed in the Services (Wikipedia excerpts, Reddit posts, RA.co event listings) remains the property of its respective owners and is displayed under their respective terms and licenses.
The Services integrate with third-party services including Google, xAI, Mapbox, Supabase, PostHog, Reddit, Wikipedia, and RA.co. Your use of features that depend on these services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
The Services are provided in beta. This means:

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JINK AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT, INACCURATE BUILDING IDENTIFICATION, OR LOSS OF DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at contact@jink.quest. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Services. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately. Sections 7, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at contact@jink.quest and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
