Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 7, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Jink uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on jink.quest (our website). The Jink iOS app does not use browser cookies — this policy applies to the website only.

Note on consent: Our website currently loads analytics trackers (PostHog and Google Analytics) automatically when you visit. We are working on adding a cookie consent banner before public launch so you can choose whether to accept non-essential cookies. Until that banner is live, visiting jink.quest constitutes implicit consent to the tracking described here. You can opt out at any time using the methods below.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device when you visit. They help websites remember you, analyze how you use the site, and enable certain features. "Similar technologies" include web beacons (invisible tracking pixels) and browser-based local storage, which work in analogous ways.

2. What we use on jink.quest

ServiceTypePurposeOpt-out
PostHog Analytics Tracks page views, scroll depth, button clicks, and session data to help us understand how visitors use the site. Data is processed by PostHog on servers in the US. Use a browser ad blocker, or contact us to opt out your session.
Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) Analytics Tracks page views and basic engagement metrics. Data is processed by Google. Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
Mapbox Functional Renders the 3D city map and lore pin map. When the map loads, your approximate location (from IP address) and viewport coordinates are sent to Mapbox's servers to fetch map tiles. Not possible to opt out while using the interactive map features.
Tally.so Functional Powers the waitlist signup form. When you submit your email, it is sent to and stored by Tally. Tally may set cookies on their embedded form page. Do not submit the waitlist form if you prefer not to share your email with Tally.

3. No advertising cookies

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not serve ads on jink.quest, and we do not share your data with any advertising networks for the purpose of showing you targeted ads on other websites.

4. How to opt out or delete cookies

You can manage cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data

Note that disabling cookies may affect how some parts of jink.quest function, particularly the interactive map.

For Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. The iOS app

The Jink iOS app does not use browser cookies. For information on how the iOS app collects and uses data, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or change tracking technologies. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the website.
